This policy explains what personal data Khaleej Cargo collects, why, and what rights you have over it — written to comply with the UAE’s Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data (the PDPL), not copied from a generic template.

When you request a quote, book a shipment, or contact us, we collect what is actually necessary to do that — your name, phone number, email, pickup and delivery addresses (including Makani numbers), and shipment details such as cargo type, weight, and route. We do not collect more than this. If you are shipping personal effects, we also handle the identity and visa documentation required for customs clearance, strictly for that purpose.
Why We Collect It
Every piece of data we ask for exists to move your shipment: confirming pickup, preparing accurate customs documentation, coordinating border clearance, and keeping you updated in transit. We do not use your data for purposes beyond this without asking you first, in line with the PDPL’s purpose limitation principle.
Consent
Under the PDPL, we need your explicit, informed consent before processing your personal data, and we ask for it through a clear action on your part — submitting a quote request or contact form, for example — not a pre-ticked box or buried assumption.
Your Rights
Under the PDPL, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct any inaccurate or outdated information
- Request deletion of your data where we are not legally required to retain it (customs and shipment records are typically subject to retention requirements under UAE law)
- Receive your data in a machine-readable format on request

How We Protect Your Data
We apply reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your data against unauthorized access, alteration, or loss, consistent with the PDPL’s security requirements. Shipment and customs documentation is shared only with the parties genuinely necessary to clear your cargo — relevant customs authorities and border agencies — not sold or shared for marketing purposes.
How Long We Keep Your Data
We retain shipment and customs-related records for as long as required under UAE commercial and customs regulations. Contact and quote enquiry data that does not proceed to a booking is retained only as long as reasonably needed to follow up, then removed.
Cookies
Our website uses standard technical cookies necessary for the site to function correctly. We do not use third-party advertising trackers to build profiles of visitors.
Changes to This Policy
If we materially change how we handle personal data, we will update this page and revise the date below — we will not make retroactive changes that reduce your existing rights without telling you.
