We offer cargo insurance on every shipment, and we disclose the cost and coverage before you book — not after something goes wrong. Here is what that actually covers, what it does not, and why we bring it up on every single route and service page on this site instead of leaving it as a footnote.

Why We Keep Mentioning This
Damaged or lost cargo with no insurance disclosed is one of the most common complaints shippers have about road freight companies in this region — not because insurance is unavailable, but because it is often never offered, or buried in a way that makes it easy to miss until a claim is needed. We ask you about it at the quote stage on purpose.
What Cargo Insurance Actually Covers
Road cargo insurance — sometimes called motor truck cargo insurance — is built around loss or damage that happens while your shipment is in our care: collision, fire, water damage, and theft while your cargo is being loaded, transported, or unloaded. It is not the same as your goods’ commercial value insurance or a warehouse policy; it specifically covers the journey.
Two coverage structures are worth knowing the difference between:
- All-Risk coverage — the broadest option, covering loss or damage from most causes except a short, specifically excluded list. This is what we recommend for high-value or fragile cargo.
- Named Perils coverage — covers only the specific causes of loss listed in the policy (fire, collision, theft, and similar). It costs less, and it is a reasonable choice for lower-value, robust cargo where the extra breadth of All-Risk is not worth the premium.
What It Does Not Cover
Being upfront about exclusions is part of being upfront about insurance at all. Standard cargo insurance policies typically exclude:
- Improper packing — if a shipment is packed in a way that would not survive normal handling, damage from that isn’t a covered loss
- Inherent vice — damage caused by the nature of the goods themselves (produce spoiling from its own ripening process, for example, as opposed to a refrigeration failure)
- War, civil unrest, and government or military action — standard exclusions across the industry, not specific to us
If your cargo is temperature-sensitive, ask specifically about coverage for refrigeration failure — this is usually a distinct add-on rather than something automatically included, and it matters more on our reefer routes than anywhere else we operate.
How Premiums Are Actually Determined
Cost depends on declared cargo value, route, and cargo type. A two-border transit shipment to Qatar or Bahrain carries more handling points than a direct run to Oman, and premiums reflect that. We quote insurance specifically for your shipment rather than applying a flat rate across every route.
Filing a Claim
If a shipment is damaged or lost in transit, tell us as soon as it is discovered — documentation of the condition on arrival, ideally with photos, is the single most useful thing you can provide. We’ll guide you through what the insurer needs from there. This isn’t a process we hide behind small print; ask us about it before you ship, not just after something goes wrong.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is cargo insurance included in my quote automatically?
No — we quote it separately so you can see exactly what it costs and what it covers. Ask for it explicitly when requesting your quote.
What is the difference between All-Risk and Named Perils coverage?
All-Risk covers loss or damage from most causes except a specific excluded list, making it broader. Named Perils only covers the specific causes listed in the policy. All-Risk costs more but suits high-value or fragile cargo better.
Does insurance cover damage from poor packing?
No — improper packing is a standard exclusion across the industry, not something specific to our policy. We can advise on packing standards if you are unsure whether yours will hold up.
Do I need separate insurance for temperature-sensitive cargo?
Refrigeration failure coverage is typically a distinct add-on rather than something automatically included in standard cargo insurance — ask about it specifically if you are shipping on one of our reefer routes.
